Pioneers Scrimmage Recap
The Stillwater High School Pioneers took the field Friday night for their preseason scrimmage against Broken Arrow and Edison.
The first team offense opened the night against Broken Arrow’s first team defense. The offense settled into a nice rhythm, as they
were able to pick a couple of nice gains on few option and wildcat plays.
Noble showed solid pocket presence in the face of a consistently strong pass rush from Broken Arrow. Noble finished the night
with 218 yards and three touchdowns though the air on 10-23 passing.
The standout performance for the offense was from receiver Brandon Prather. He displayed great athleticism and shiftiness all
night, reeling in a pair of touchdowns and making more than a few head-turning plays. He finished the night with 8 receptions for
168 yards to go along with his two touchdowns and will be one to keep an eye on this season.
The defense got in some work as well and made a few standout plays of their own, including a nice interception by defensive
back King Williams against Broken Arrow. The defense displayed great tackling and a hard-hitting, physical mentality throughout
Despite some standout individual performances, the team realizes what they need to work on to improve.
“We’re going to be tougher in practice,” Head Ccach Tucker Barnard said after the game. “The hard fact is that what you get on
Friday night is what you coach all week and when we’re getting mistake-ridden football on Friday night, what that means is that
we’re getting mistake-ridden football all week long. It starts with us as coaches. We’ve got to get it fixed.”
