Game Preview: McAlester
As the temperature gradually cools and the leaves begin to change colors the signs become clear, football season is finally here.
The Pioneers have been waiting since November to take the field and will get the opportunity on Friday against the McAlester
Buffaloes at Stillwater High School.
For the Pioneers they will look to bounce back from a 3-7 record from last year which the Pioneers fought extremely hard and
faced a lot of adversity. They gained a good amount of experience and know that this year those results will turn around for the
Pioneers. Coach Tucker Barnard has a great group of athletes retuning for the 2013 season and they are ready to compete for a
6A title but it all starts on Friday against the Buffaloes.
For the Pioneers Junior quarterback Braxton Noble is back on the field and will lead the team on Friday. Without a doubt he will
be looking for Brandon Prather a fellow junior who is looking to continue his success from last year where he had 65 receptions,
1015 yards and nine touchdowns.
Another player to watch out for is King Williams who last year took the opportunity at hand and gave the Pioneers another
dimension with his success on both sides of the ball last season as a quarterback and a safety.
In this matchup last year the Pioneers made the trip to McAlester and had great success early in the game and built an
insurmountable lead winning by a final score of 42-18. The Pioneers will look to have a similar result to start the year but have to
remained focused knowing that McAlester will be looking for payback for last years defeat especially on the Pioneers home field.
With the playmakers and skill on both sides of the ball, the Pioneers will be a major threat in the upcoming year and more than
fired up for the home opener on Friday.
