Players Of The Week: Mustang
Last Friday night the football Pioneers traveled to Mustang to take on the talented Broncos. The coaches told the players prior to
the game that this was a "great opportunity" to show the west side of the state what the Pioneers were capable of this season.
Stillwater jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first half, but sputtered in the 3rd quarter after Braxton Noble left the game with an
apparent injury. On the first play of the 4th quarter a Marlon McDonald III deep ball to Brandon Prather set up a McDonald rushing
touchdown and the Pioneers never looked back.
Players of the game:
Offense - Cameron Mayberry rushed for 242 yards on 24 carries and scored 2 touchdowns. Cameron was named Oklahoma
Sports Blitz Player of the Week as well.
Defense - Trey Carter recorded 10 solo tackles, 4 assists, and 2 sacks to lead the Pioneer defense.
Lineman of the game - Noah Jackson led the way on the OLine with 12 knockdowns and creating holes for Mayberry and
Special Teams - Marlon McDonald III was outstanding overall, but he came up big on special teams with a blocked punt setting
up an offensive score.
