Mayberry Carrying The Load For Pioneers
The Stillwater Pioneers came into the 2014 season with high expectations due to the abundance of seniors leading the team.
Unfortunately, quarterback Braxton Noble went down with an injury and the Pioneers needed a player to step up.
That player has been Cameron Mayberry.
Excluding the recent game against Lawton, Mayberry has racked up a total of 791 yards on 126 carries. Mayberry has also
trotted into the end zone an astonishing 11 times. To put this numbers into perspective, Mayberry is averaging almost 132 yards
every game and nearly 6.3 yards every time he touches the ball.
In recent weeks, Mayberry's presence in the backfield has allowed Stillwater's standout receivers Brandon Prather and Jordan
Brown to be more effective in the passing game. Teams who play Stillwater must respect Mayberry's ability to break a huge run
at any given time, creating endless possibilities for the Pioneer offense.
With Mayberry you know that you're going to get a smash-mouth rushing attack all night. With the help of Prather, Brown, and
Marlon McDonald, the Pioneers have developed a deadly rushing attack capable of scoring points at any given moment.
Mayberry is one of the many reasons why the Pioneers have seen success and are one of the most improved teams in
Oklahoma this year. Stillwater will look to return to their winning ways next week as they take on Putnam City West.
