Jordan Brown's Senior Night Rained On
Senior Night was only half memorable for Jordan Brown.

The first half went well; the second was frustrating.

Here at Pioneer Stadium on a rainy Thursday night, the Pioneers lost 35-26. It didn't take long for Brown to get involved in the Pioneers' offense. Defenders often gave Brown a 10-yard cushion, and Stillwater took advantage. Brown caught five passes and rushed once in the half.

The first time he was targeted on the opening drive he caught a pass and made two fantastic jukes to gain 26 yards. Brown caught a screen for 9 yards and totaled 33 yards on the drive.

On the second drive, Brown picked up 9 yards on a sweep. Two players broke up a deep touchdown after Brown was double-covered in the end zone; he was slow getting up, holding his left wrist. Brown missed the next two plays.

The Patriots defense seemed to have made the necessary adjustments, for Brown got his first reception of the second half with 8:20 left, and it was a 1-yard loss.

Brown's next catch came with 1:20 left to play on a 37-yard completion. The next play he got hit hard, and was slow to get up but did not miss a play.

He finished the second half with only two receptions.

Brown a 6-foot-2, 200-pound wide receiver who has committed to Tulsa, was introduced along with his mom and other family members, who escorted him onto the field. In addition to football, Brown also stars in basketball and track. For Brooke Phipps, Brown's mom, it was a memorable and sad moment.

"Kind of sad looking back thinking he is finally a senior going to graduate and go off to college and leave the house; makes me realize how fast he has grown up,'' Phipps said.

Although it was Senior Night, Brown wanted another home game in the playoffs.

"I kind of believed it was my last game here,'' Brown said. "I just knew I wanted to play as hard as I can so we could host regionals here, but that didn't get done but it was still fun playing the last game here."

Quarterback Jace Brownlee wanted Brown to go out a winner.

" Jordan played his heart out tonight he did really good he made plays happen that he should not have gotten any yards on,'' Brownlee said.

Brown finished with 110 yards receiving and minus 1 rushing.
