Stillwater Backs Slice Through Enid
10-22-16 by Zach Hake
Josiah Castleberry and Tyler Disidore gave Enid's defense that rundown and run over feeling.
Stillwater's running backs repeatedly sliced through the Plainsmen, leading the Pioneers to a critical 35-10 win Thursday in a
Class 6A-II District I game at Pioneer Stadium.
The win could prove vital for Stillwater (3-4 overall, 1-3 conference) as the Class 6A-II District I postseason picture continues to
Castleberry and Disidore combined for 254 yards and four touchdowns. Castleberry ended with 201 yards and two touchdowns.
"We weren't really sufficient with the run game in the past couple of weeks," Castleberry said. "The linemen worked really hard to
become more physical and it worked out tonight."
Castleberry had a 53-yard touchdown run to put the Pioneers up 13-3 and another 10-yard touchdown late in the third quarter to
widen the lead to 27-3.
Coach Tucker Barnard attributed the win to field position and stellar performances from his running backs.
"All the tailbacks had some really nice runs tonight," Barnard said. "The offensive line is doing a really good job."
Disidore made sure Enid couldn't key on only Castleberry. He scored twice on 5-yard runs and ended with 53 yards.
